BackgroundMidwest Illumination is an energy conservation firm focused on providing turn-key energy efficient lighting solutions that provide both environmental and economical returns. Their customers range from mid-sized manufacturers to governments and Fortune 500 companies.
The ProblemAs a pioneer during the industry’s infancy in the early 1990’s, MWI built systems that were still relevant and industry leading in 2010. As the most recent technology boom has spread to the lighting industry though, they knew that it was a time for a revamping.

The Solution3030 created a nomenclature system that could logically describe virtually any light fixture that MWI could find in the field or design in house. Embedded in this is energy, operational, maintenance, material, and labor cost data. This system made it possible to move away from pen and paper surveys to a tablet based application. 3030 provided architecture and project management services for this application. The end result was reduced project development time, more intelligent solutions, and increased profitability.
